Baka Gaijin's beach bbq bonanza
Clouds loomed. People emailed- are we still going? Is it gonna rain? The decision was made- we'll go to the beach anyway, if it rains on us we'll make other plans. Good decision.
The clouds remained but the rain held off. It turned out to be pretty good beach weather.
So I set off from my house with 3 bags; one contained bbq and charcoal, the next contained a volleyball net, the last contained everything else i needed. Food, frisbee, volleyball etc. Needless to say the 15 minute walk from my place to the station was a bit of a struggle. But I got there.
Anyways, once everyone had met up we found a spot with a minimal amount of other people about. We then set up the volleyball net and had a game. It was good. On top of volleyball we also had a frisbee, a soccerball and a cricket bat. It was a day where too much sport was barely enough.
As the sun started making its way down, it was time to fire up the bbq. We had quite a selection of stuff including snags, pork, chicken breasts, yakitori, mushrooms, capsicum and, my South African counterparts will be pleased to know braaibroekkies! (I hope i spelled that right). The Polish connection also brought along bananas for the bbq. Not my cup of tea but anyway.
As our bellies were filled and fattened Johnboy started to get antsy- Wheres the fireworks? So a trip to the supermarket was made in order to fill our hanabi needs. Johnboy was happy. We were all happy. Life was good
